"Who'd leave money in the bottom of a pool?" Carla Jean asked, expression twisting with obvious confusion, corners of her mouth tugging lower. Standing by Kate to look over the edge, there was no denying that was what it was, even if it wasn't a currency she was familiar with either, but it struck her as odd even so. Just an empty pool would have been one thing, but much like everything here, it seemed just a little off.
Glancing over at Reggie, she added, "And did you really just say Johnny-come-latelys?"
