"How is this even possible?" Kate asked, although she didn't honestly expect an answer. There was something about this that no one could really explain, she figured, and that didn't surprise her. It was the sort of thing that was beyond explanation, kind of like how half the people here were fictional or had come from worlds with magic or spacemen.
