Kate follows her willingly enough, turning on her flashlight when it gets dark enough that she can't see where she's walking and then only sweeping it back and forth over the floor. Mostly she doesn't want to break her leg. It would be pretty shitty to have to be dragged up from the caves and be put in a cast for a month or even longer.
"What's even down there?" she asks. "Do you know?"
