I don't know the guy, but I know he's trained, a cop, so he knows better than I do about the shit Kate needs to know to keep going down this path. I still don't think it's a good idea for her to have it and not know how to handle it. She doesn't need to know how to shoot someone yet, she needs to know how not to shoot one. There are so many ways it could go wrong. Just because she's not supposed to touch it yet doesn't mean she shouldn't be prepared.
