Kate likes that, although she doesn't know how to say so without sounding like a complete tool. It's jumping. It's over fast. She wishes the same could be said about a lot of stuff in life, though she knows most people -- most adults -- would tell her that's just part of being alive. Nothing is over fast, everything is its own kind of special torture.

Effy or Jeff or Danny, people who've been keeping her company because they know how shitty things are lately. For the past several weeks, she and Effy have been together almost all the time. It's easier to deal with it, just a little bit, knowing she's not alone.
