Immediately groaning, Hermione let out a hopeless laugh before burying her face in her hands, feeling her entire face light up in a flush, biting heavily down on her lower lip with the embarrassment. Of all the people Hermione could see herself telling, Kate was certainly at the top of the list. (Though Hermione had known Ginny for longer, the topic was... well, to call it inappropriate would have been an understatement, to say the very least.) When she emerged again, it was only to let her gaze rise above the curve of her knees, fingers tightly gripping there until her knuckles grew pale.
"It was... well, it was all going fine, honestly," Hermione began with a soft sigh, fidgeting with her hands. "Neither of us knew what we were doing, really, but that was fine, it made everything— it made everything easier, almost, knowing that you could lower expectations without there being any judgment. But right as... we were actually starting to understand the, the mechanics of it all."
Her face lowered again, cheeks uncomfortably warm as she pressed her forehead to her knees. "Harry walked in on the both of us," she confessed, voice sounding like a squeak.
