"We're lucky that Neil will let us have dinner and drinks for free, then," Kate says as she slides into a chair and leans her elbows on the table. She's a little nervous, if she's honest, which she tries not to be. It's not a state she likes being in much and it isn't one she's used to. That's how she knows this isn't just some whim, something she can push aside.
"So," she says again. "Okay, so this is maybe weird, but I have to tell you something."
