It might have been a bad idea and Sam might have been right in interrupting, but the second Hannibal lifted her off the floor, any and all thoughts like that were gone. Bad idea or not, it felt good and she wanted it. Kate wrapped her arms around him, kissing him back, her hands smoothing over the expanse of his back before the fingers of one hand pushed into his hair.
"Sorry," she managed to say between kisses. "Friend. Trying to protect me."
