"I am pretty naturally cute," Kate agreed brightly, pleased with herself -- and with him -- even as she looked at the paint on his face and tried to figure out what it was supposed to be. Maybe just some lines to look like a warrior or something and she was about to dismiss it when the shape finally made sense.
