Thoughts not as easily derailed by the sight of the village, it takes Effy a second or two longer before she works up a smile and heads more resolutely in the direction of the gathered huts. The materials in her bag get hiked further up her shoulder as she listens for any hint of voices in the air.

It's a bit comforting to be met with silence.

"Wonder if this is the haunted part," Effy says aloud, carefully laying her belongings by a tree that stands beside the nearest hut before rushing forward to try and peek in through slivers in the boards.
