"This one time, it gave me basically all the worst books in the world that it could give me," Kate said, remembering that night. She was still lucky that Jeff had been there and that Danny hadn't turned out to be a total ass of a cop. "But then it also gave me this ridiculously amazing video I made back home with this artist lady. So that was pretty cool."

Heading into the rec room, Kate went straight for the bookshelf and began to look over the titles that were there. "So do you think the fact that we look like other people means we're all like... from some kind of work of fiction?" she asked slowly.
