On a normal day, Kate would sleep much later than Marshall, choosing to roll out of her bed in the Compound pretty much whenever she felt like it. That was okay, though, that was how the island worked. She could do what she wanted and she could do it whenever she wanted and that meant that she never had to get out of bed before noon.

Sometimes, though, her bladder prevented her from sleeping straight through and with a muffled groan into her pillow, Kate opened her eyes. It was still early, too early to be awake, really, but she needed to pee. If she didn't go, she'd never get back to sleep and she'd just end up lying in her bed until Marshall got up, at which point she'd probably join him.

Rolling away from the wall, she flopped onto her back and looked over at Marshall's bed to see if he was still in it. At the sight of someone's long hair spilling over the pillow, both the need to pee and the desire for more sleep were forgotten. Kate sat up in bed, staring at her brother's pillow and the girl who'd somehow ended up in his bed.

If this was another 'dating a crazy girl' thing, she was totally going to kick him out.

"Moosh?" she asked. Both hands flew to her throat as soon as she spoke his name. Two hands that were larger than she was used to. Large and not like her hands at all. Slowly, Kate touched her throat, then her chest and she let out a strange, strangled sort of noise when she discovered a hard, flat surface instead of the pretty awesome breasts she was used to finding there.

"Holy shit," she said. "Holy shit."

Marshall had always been a relatively heavy sleeper. He didn't toss and turn. He didn't wake up multiple times in the night. His sleep schedule was relatively strict, with him falling asleep and waking up at roughly same time every day.

Order kept him happy. Or at least, it had before he'd started hanging around Maxxie so much, but that was another story...

He'd gotten to bed late, and he'd planned on actually sleeping in, for once, so when he heard someone calling his name, it didn't register right away that this wasn't a voice he recognized. "What? God, Katie, what time is it?" he grumbled, lifting his head and cracking open an eye, his vision still too blurry to make out more than a hazy outline of his sister sitting up in her bed.
